Covid 19 - FAQs

Updated: Jun 9, 2021

Last Updated: February 2021

The property market is currently open according to government guidelines. We know that all the changes can be difficult to keep track of. Please see our most up to date information below.

Is CJT Property open during the lockdown?

Yes. We are adhering all government guidelines and working from here where possible but we are staying open as long as the government advises that the property market should remain open. We are contactable as usual for any residential maintenance problems.

I'm looking to rent my property is that still possible?

Yes - we are still able to come and give you a rental valuation on your property. We would then market your property and run accompanied viewings with additional safety procedures in place. We can also offer virtual viewing appointments if it is not possible to hold a viewing safely.

Can you still market my property?

Absolutely! We are on Rightmove the largest property portal in the UK meaning your property will get seen by the largest number of potential tenants. We also advertise in local print media and are having great success with our Facebook marketing.

Are viewings still taking place?

Yes but we ask that no more than two people attend a viewing. All parties are required to wear a mask unless they have a medical exemption. We sanitise any surfaces between viewings and please ask us to open any doors rather than doing it yourself.

I'm a tenant with a maintenance issue - can you still help?

Yes please contact us by phone or through our maintenance reporting form on our website. Contractors are still able to visit your home with your permission. We ask all of our contractors to wear a mask and to adhere to social distancing when visiting your home, please make sure you do the same. If you have any Covid-19 symptoms, are self isolating or shielding please let us know. If it's an emergency we will still come out to your home but you may prefer to wait until you have finished your isolation period for more minor issues.

I'm a tenant and have been informed a contractor needs to attend my house - is this necessary?

The government has advised that inspections should take place as normal. Your landlord is still required to have a gas safety check once per year and an electrical installation condition report every five years. These are undertaken for your safety and we ask that you do your best to accommodate our contractors. We can usually make sure our contractors attend at a time to suit you - it might be that you prefer to be out when safety checks take place, or you may prefer to be at your home.
